Eddie Money and The Sound of Money will perform at nonprofit Pets for Vets’ inaugural fundraising gala May 14

Pets for Vets, Ventura County Chapter, will present its inaugural fundraising dinner gala honoring local veterans at 6 p.m. Sat., May 14 at the Reagan Library, Presidential Learning Center, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.

Pets for Vets, a national nonprofit organization with chapters across the United States, rescues shelter pets and then trains and pairs them with American veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injuries and could benefit from having a companion animal.

The Ventura County Chapter, an all-volunteer organization, makes pet matches with veterans from Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai,Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Ventura.

Pets for Vets has secured support from celebrities, elected officials and entertainers for its inaugural fundraiser.

Gala admission includes a VIP cocktail hour and photo opportunities with:

Loretta Swit, animal activist, award-winning actress and star of the TV series “M*A*S*H”

Eddie Money, Grammynominated rock musician
